Lichfield started bright with an early attack from the kick off. Jude Taylor cuts inside and lays it to Sonny Sheasby who stabs the ball wide.
After coping with pressure, Lichfield came close again. Tom Brown and Sheasby linked up well for Brown to force an inviting cross to Taylor but his weak header was cleared of the line.
Mickleover had moments themselves. Ali Mohiuddin crossed the ball towards the back post which was not met, instead Josh Mansell put it out for a corner.
After a relativley slow first half, Lichfield had the last of the chances. Luke Childs layed the ball of to John Mills whose ambitious long ranged shot crashed against the cross bar.
To close the half, Sheasby received the ball in a wide attacking area, and launched a searching cross to the back post which was just above oncoming Jack Edwards.
Lichfield started the second half similar to how they ended the first. Mills collected the ball in the box but his half volley was straight at keeper Oliver Bosworth.
Pushing for the first goal of the game, James Wilcock zipped a low driven cross into the box, but none of the Lichfield men in the box could get a touch.
After coming on from the bench, Michael Hollingsworth made quite an impact. His shot from distance sailed narrowly over the bar, a warning sign for Lichfield.
Mickleover came close again, possibly the closest in the game, with Paddy Webb taking the ball round keeper Isaac Taylor - Dedman. Isaac forced him wide and Webb’s shot struck the post.
Maintaining some momentum again, Lichfield attacked down the other end with Taylor’s cut back to Dan Loumas, but his shot is saved.
After another ambitious long ranged attempt, this time from captain Joe Haines, his shot from distance skids wide.
Mickleover had the last chance of the game, Joshua Carter collected the ball at the edge of the box. His shot sailed just over the bar.
