Edwards Free Kick Secures The Points at Rugby Borough

Lichfield started the game the strongest as Jack Edwards’ free kick was well dealt with by the Rugby defence and put out for a corner.


Using the wind to their advantage, a Rugby shot from distance, which rose up, but was caught well by Brendon Bunn.


Bunn was called back into action soon after, forced into a save at his bottom right hand corner.


Rugby gaining some sort of momentum, another shot, this time from the edge of the box, finishing just wide.


Down the other end,  defender Leighton Mcmenemy won a header goes narrowly wide at the back post.


Another rugby chance came from a wayward pass from keeper Bunn, but he recovers and on the one on one, saves it well


Holding the ball out wide, Rugby had a shot from the right misses the target just.


A chance from distance arose, as Harry Wakefield shoots from 20 yards which the Rugby keeper saved.


 As the second half started, Rugby started the stronger as Bunn was forced into another low save.


Looking for the first of the game, midfielder Tom Brown advanced with excellent solo play, he attempts to find Jamie Spiers who cant reach the ball at the back post


Gaining some momentum in the second half, Mills attempts a shot from 30 yards, his shot goes wide of the goal.


A big chance for Lichfield, as Josh Mansell’s long throw in from wide, is headed towards the goal by a rugby defender which is put behind for a corner.

The first goal of the match came Lichfields way from a free kick, as Edwards wrong foots the keeper giving Lichfield the advantage.


With the last chance of the game, went Rugbys way as they fire from wide at the edge of the box, but nothing comes off it
