Lichfield Exit The FA Trophy to Corby Town

The game saw a quick start, with Tyrone Lewthwaite forcing a rather weak shot which deflected of Joe Haines looping over keepr Isaac Taylor Dedman.
Corby Town were relentless in their attack in the opening stages, captain Rory Mcauley wins a header from the corner, back into Lewthwaite whose touch is saved by Dedman.
Lichfield were beginning to find their footing, James Wilcock cross found James Spiers, his header forcing a save from keeper Jake Laban.
After winning a foul, Jack Edwards’ free kick curls narrowly wide of the post.
Gaining some momentum, midfielder Daniel Bradley advanced quickly on the box, shooting from range but his shot sailed over the bar.
Down the other end, target man Lewthwaite advanced towards defence but excellent defence by Luke Childs and Joe Haines put him of and prevented the attack.
To start the second half, Connor Tomlinsons cross was half cleared by Dedman but the danger was fully cleared by Jamie Elkes.
Down the other end, Haines advanced on goal from a wide position, cut inside but his curling shot was wide of the box.
Corby trio, Jack Noble, Connor Tomlinson, and Lewthwaite all combined in a good passing move but the final pass runs wide.
On a counter attack in the late stage of the game, Tomlinson received the ball in behind and calmly smashed it into the bottom left to double the advantage.
In the latter stage of the game, Childs won a penalty from putting himself in front of the goal. Debutant Bradley stepped up and calmly slotted it in the bottom left corner past the keeper, getting a goal back.
